Aquatalia by Marvin K.

September 30, 2011

This weekend is our last trunk show for this summer season! What better way to turn the corner in to fall than with Aquatalia by Marvin K. boots. From ankle to calf boots, Aquatalia footwear is made in Italy, and they are all weather proof, giving you fashion without compromise. They truly are a functional luxury – you can wear your boots in rain, snow, sleet, perfect for those winter months in Jackson Hole.

Ankle boots are all the rage this season, and Aquatalia has plenty of style options so you can find the perfect pair. Both of these black suede style ankle boots, Richie (left) and Flair (right) have a slip resistant rubber sole, making it easy to wear a heel on the snow and ice.

Pictured above are two gorgeous calf boots. The Undy Boot (left) in Espresso is a tall moto-inspired boot with woven stretch elastic shaft. The Quilt Boot (right) is featured in Nut Antique and is a tall pull on equestrian-style boot.

If you’re looking for a more statement boot, you should come try on the Foggy Boot, pictured above in Espresso suede. It is a 3/4 pull on boot with rabbit fur and has a double strap and snazzy ring detail. It’s also available in Black suede as well.

The Crystal Boot (above) is a classic tall black leather boot, and would go perfectly with almost any outfit. With its low heel, this boot combines classy elegance with practicality – it has a full functional inside zipper and double elastic back panel for a perfect fit! Come in this weekend to see what style and color looks best on you.

Summer Trunk Show: Katherine Hooker

September 13, 2011

Last week goodie2shoes was packed with ladies trying on Katherine Hooker’s tailored coats & jackets. This was Katherine’s first trip to Jackson Hole, and we were delighted to host her show. The beauty of Katherine’s work is she allows you to create your own customized coat or jacket by first selecting the style you love, then the fabric, and then the intricate details. “You have so much freedom to pick your linings, trim, buttons – you can completely customize your coat for you. We love seeing what our customers come up with,” Katherine told us. The coats come in tweed, leather, velvet, suede, cashmere – you truly have endless options. Katherine is pictured above in the Baseball Jacket, a very Americana-varsity 1950′s look. The photo below is also a Baseball Jacket, but by changing the collar and fabric, you have a completely different look.

One of the top sellers this season is the Patm0s Jacket, a fitted but comfortable coat. One fantastic feature to this jacket is the double button option – if you want a more fitted look you can wear it on the outer buttons, and if you need to throw if over a few layers for those cold Jackson nights, you can wear it on the inner buttons. We love the buttoned sleeves!

This jacket below is the Tali, a short version of the Patmos.

One of Katherine’s newest styles is the Jackson Coat – it just arrived at the store the day of the show. Of course, we love the name! Ironically, it debuted here in Jackson Hole, and it was the first time Katherine and her assistant Karimah had seen the coat in stores. The Jackson coat is unstructured, giving you plenty of options when wearing it. On the rack, it’s hard to get a feel for what the coat looks like, so we asked Karimah and Katherine to show us two different options for this coat.

All of the coats & jackets in Katherine’s trunk show are perfected. “We keep trying and trying until we perfect the look,” Katherine said. Katherine and her team will spend years working on a specific style, until they are confident the design and fit is complete. For example, they spent 7 years working on the Hacking Jacket until it fit perfectly. It fits amazing!

Summer Trunk Show: Charlie Pattison

September 6, 2011

If you walked in to goodie2shoes last week and heard country music playing, you might be a little confused. But everything would make sense once you saw Charlie Pattison and his amazing collection of belt buckles, concho bracelets and cuffs. Pattison started silversmithing as a hobby 20 years ago, and is completely self-taught.

He hand engraves intricately detailed designs, featuring Western motifs such as cowboys, bison, steer heads and trout, in eye catching combinations of gold and silver. The Concho bracelets above and below are made of braided leather that resemble a delicate rope, with beautiful hand-engraved flowers, animals and other unique designs.

When we asked Charlie where he gets inspiration for his pieces, he said, “Some of my best pieces are ideas from my customers. Rodeo cowboys have a different style from chic women, so I try to create a piece that works well with many different styles.”

Susan was modeling one of Pattison’s Western belt buckles. What could be more perfect for a night out in Jackson Hole?

This Filigree silver & gold cuff is one of Pattison’s favorite pieces. Guess who else loves it – country music legend George Strait! (He recently bought one from Pattison). Charlie said a piece like this was in style 400 years ago, even 4,000 years ago. We think it looks great no matter where you live.

When else could you come to goodie2shoes and pick up a gift for the special man in your life? His shot glasses would definitely be a topic of conversation and fun addition to anyone’s bar.

Summer Trunk Show: Paul Morelli

August 24, 2011

This week at goodie2shoes we are so pleased to have an exquisite collection from Paul Morelli. Morelli has been designing truly timeless pieces of jewelry for over 30 years. His experience and mastery of his craft is evident in each uniquely elegant piece. Following in  the tradition of old European masters, all of his jewelry is hand-crafted in his design house in Philadelphia, ensuring complete quality control.

The Meditation Bell Collection is one of our favorites. Any of the bells are available in a range of sizes, from 1-6, and each size has a unique sound. One fabulous look is to wear several chains, varying in length, each with a different size bell – by combining different bells you can create your own look and sound.

Morelli quotes what originally inspired his mediation bell collection. “During the recession I thought, ‘Everyone’s depressed, but what would make people feel good?’ So I started making meditation bells to cheer people up because I have a good friend who’s a Zen Buddhist, and we discussed the idea together – I made a few bells and they suddenly became very popular.”

You can’t help but smile when you hear the sweet sound of his meditation bells. The bells above are all size 6, the largest in Morelli’s collection.

Morelli enjoys designing pieces that incorporate the aesthetics of fine-jewelry with functionality. The two necklaces above are part of his Applique Collection; the larger pendant actually has a mirror attached so you could use it as a make-up compact as well. The diversity of Morelli’s work is unbelievable – you’ll have to come see it for yourself!

Happy Anniversary Temple St. Clair!

August 24, 2011

It’s amazing that Temple St. Clair is celebrating 25 years of creating truly timeless jewelry. How fun to see this feature in InStyle magazine and see how she is re-creating some of her first pieces.  We so enjoyed having Temple and her trunk show in town last week, and can’t wait for her to come back again. We can’t wait to see the entire 25th Anniversary Collection! Happy Anniversary!

Monica Rich Kosann

August 10, 2011

Monica Rich Kosann is a woman of many talents. She is an acclaimed fine-art portrait photographer, fine jewelry designer, author and home-consultant. From her collection of keepsake necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and photo cases, Monica draws inspiration from what is most precious to all of us: family, friends and loved ones. “I look at myself as a storyteller,” Monica told us.

Monica’s collection first started with her image cases. She started collecting antique cigarette cases, powder compacts and vintage lockets that could be re-purposed to hold family photographs. As demand grew, she began designing her own pieces and launched her Image Cases collection. All of her pieces are hand-engraved in sterling silver, using the same Italian craftsmanship and style as the 1800′s, creating a truly special gift. This collection has grown to include image case books, post mark envelope cases, silver frames and limited edition pieces as well.

New for this fall are some of Monica’s stunning lockets. “One thing I love about lockets is they are mysterious. They’re so sexy because people are always trying to know what’s behind the locket. The ultimate luxury is having a one-of-a-kind photograph in a one-of-a-kind locket.” We certainly agree! One of the unique elements to her lockets is the way she incorporates color with the stones she selects. Whether it’s a milky quartz or diamonds, the stones truly take her lockets to the next level.

The Charmed Life Collection includes gorgeous charm bracelets, necklaces and pendants. The beauty of this collection is you can build your own, in either 18kt gold or silver. Once you’e chosen the style bracelet you love, you can add charms over time to document your life’s journey. Monica told us the charm bracelets are truly designed for women. Charms are an authentic way to chronicle defining moments in life and create your own story and style. “The charm bracelets are a living story, full of love, strength and memories,” Monica said.

We so enjoy Monica’s visits to Jackson Hole, and had to grab a shot of Jenny and Monica showing off so many gorgeous pieces. We love the way Monica combined both charm bracelets and bangles and Jenny’s choice of mixing matching different necklaces to create a truly stunning look. Come by the store to find the perfect piece to reflect the loved ones in your life.
