September 3, 2012

While we’re not ready to say goodbye to summer yet, it’s getting to that time of year where we have those gorgeous Indian summer days. Cool, chilly mornings and evenings have us reaching for a warmer layer and we are getting more and more warmer pieces in the store each day.

This week we have beautiful coats, jackets, wraps and scarves from Itala Testino. All her pieces are hand made in Peru from luxurious Alpaca fibers and wool blends.  Itala throws herself in to each and every design and is truly a master of creating gorgeous, quality pieces. There are so many different styles and colors to choose from, so come by the store today and tomorrow (Sept 4 & 5) to find one for you!

Summer Trunk Show: feNa

August 31, 2012

Designer Kellyn Timmerman is an architect-turned-handbag designer, and she brought her fantastic clutches “back home” to Jackson for this week’s trunk show. Kellyn was born and raised in Jackson, and we are thrilled to have her debut at goodie2shoes! feNa means “for every N anything” and her clutches and bags are just that.

the feNa display in the store – so many options, you may need more than one!

Every bag in the feNa collection is real Italian leather that is stamped to look like crocodile, snake skin, or metallic. This ensures that each bag is completely environmentally friendly, down to the vegetarian tanning dyes the manufacturer uses. Kellyn is so intentional about the entire process being eco-friendly.

The “Euphoria” in Leaf.

Kellyn has a unique naming system for each one of her designs. “Most designers base the names of their products from women’s names, but that had really no significance for me. When I was in the process of a career change, I was thinking of names that are based on the optimism to make things happen, and that really spoke to me, ” she said. This is apparent in the names of her different designs: Gratitude, Abundance, Exceptional, Euphoria, and Glorious, to name a few. Kellyn told us, “The intention is that the character of the bag is to go with them while you’re carrying it.”

“Exceptional” in Smoke.

Many of the clutches in her collection are multi-dimensional – for everyday, cocktail parties, clutches, make-up bags. “They are made to fit everything, so you can wear it anytime,” Kellyn said. They truly are for every N anything!

Summer Trunk Show: Marchez Vous

August 31, 2012

We had an absolute blast with Yeardley Smith, designer of Marchez Vous shoes, last week in the store! Yeardley is also known as the voice of Lisa Simpson of The Simpsons television show. Her shoes have as much personality and spunk and she does, that’s for sure!

Each shoe is named for the personality of the shoe, and each box comes with a description of the “lady” and her characteristics. For example, “Giselle” is “warm, sophisticated and funny. She speaks twelve languages and knows all the best places to eat, shop, and stay. She is chronically over-scheduled but moves through her day as though she has all the time in the world. She’s best friends with all of her ex-husbands’ wives.” Who else can describe their shoes in such detail???

Arman Sarkisyan, Jenny Hickey & Yeardley Smith – too much fun in the store!

Jewelry designer Arman had a trunk show at our sister store, Belle Cose, during the same time, and he popped in the store to say hello. What fun!

Marchez Vous Shoes – Special Guest Appearance

August 14, 2012

Marchez-vous right on in to goodie2shoes today for a fabulous event! Marchez Vous (“you walk” in French) is the line of fabulous shoes by Yeardley Smith (the voice of Lisa on The Simpsons.)

Yeardley will be in the store from 1-3pm, signing shoes and showing off her sexy collection of heels (that are surprisingly ridiculously comfortable!!!). All Marchez Vous shoes are manufactured in Italy – in the same superior quality factories as Prada and Mui Mui. You can see the craftsmanship in the soft, supple leathers and the exquisite Napa leather linings.

Yeardley creates  each shoe with a unique personality. For example, Ines (one of our most popular styles) is a “Principal by day. Dancer at the Moulin Rouge by night. ‘Nough said.” Or take Mylene – she has quite the personality! “Myléne is winning and soften-spoken. She never loses her cool and there seems to be nothing she can’t do. Her passport is stuffed with extra pages and the CIA once recruited her to be a spy. No one knows if she took the job or not.”

Come in the store between 1-3pm to meet this sassy lady and find out which shoe is perfect for you!

Summer Trunk Show: Atelier 360

June 21, 2012

This week at goodie2shoes we are featuring several exquisite artisan designers represented by Atelier 360. If you’re looking for something fresh and special to wear, come try on these fabulous dresses, tops, skirts and scarves. We guarantee that no one else in Jackson will be wearing stunning designs like this!

And if you didn’t know, tomorrow we are partnering with the Jackson Hole Wine Auction for the first ever Food & Fashion Event. The luncheon will be at Shooting Star, and guests will be treated to a fabulous lunch paired with excellent wine and have the opportunity to see many designs from the internationally acclaimed Atelier 360 designers. This is going to be such a fabulous event and we would love to see you there!

Romyda Keth is a Cambodian designer, well recognized in Paris and quickly gaining a world-wide following. Each of her pieces are hand made, with exquisite and intricate detailing. The dress above is all hand embroidered with an incredible amount of time and skill. As a designer, Romyda is eclectic in her range – elegant, sporty, bold or simple, you can find something that suits your style. She is known for designing pieces to truly accentuate the female for. We know it’s almost impossible to get a feel for this looking at them on the hanger, so we thought we’d try on some of our favorites to share with you!

Putting on one of her dresses just makes you feel so sexy! We love how she designs pieces to accentuate a woman’s body.

Another artisan designer Atelier 360 represents is Eric Raisina. Eric is truly a textile master. Not only does he design all of pieces, but he creates all the textiles for them. The amount of time that is involved for each of these creative processes is truly amazing. Almost of of his pieces are created from some form of silk. When you see his designs in person, it’s almost hard to believe, because the way he weaves the silk creates completely different looks and style.

This dress is simply a knock out. We love it!

All the flowers on this dress are all woven silk that is then sewn on the silk dress itself. Stunning!

The deep plunge on the back of this top is simply gorgeous.

While most of Eric’s designs are created from silk, we can’t get over this raffia skirt. That’s right, he was able to work with raffia and weave it in such a way that he can design a skirt from it. The raffia itself is from Madagascar (Eric’s native country) and then hand woven in Cambodia. These pieces truly are pieces of art!
